WP 6 - Integration & Assessment

  In a first step this work package will work out basic information concerning the air flow pattern and the distribution of pollutants in energy efficient buildings.

  It will focus on 3D-modelling and -simulation of the indoor environment incl. room air flow, the distribution of selected pollutants indoors taking into account all sources and sinks of this pollutants. This will be done by an example room with clearly defined boundary conditions for the chosen use cases. The boundary conditions will be defined in WP2. The room air flow pattern will be analysed regarding to completely new indoor conditions because of the high insulated and very airtight energy efficient buildings. Older investigations didn’t take into account these new indoor conditions. To evaluate the models a few large scale experiments in a test chamber will be done. Here the influence of passive systems on indoor air conditions will also be investigated. The results of the simulation will give hints to the new air flow patterns and the distribution of pollutants and to the best and practicable positioning of the sensors.

  This work package will also connect the work packages Monitoring (WP3), Active (WP4) and Passive Systems (WP5). Thus it is the last evaluation step before demonstration in WP 7 is started.

  Data sets and boundary conditions concerning sources and sinks of air pollutants from WP3 Monitoring and WP5 Passive Systems will be evaluated. So different materials with different properties can be built in the simulation.

  Requirements for WP4 Active Systems will be worked out.

  The Integration of active and passive systems will be developed and tested in test houses of CEA (France).

  Preparations for the monitoring campaign will be done.
